Story by Andrew Alan Matthews about the paining:

The Manchester Outlaw

In Piccadilly centre of the city , Where taxis, buses and trams come in and out and theres a lout shouting and Flouting the law.
Hes an outlaw causing trouble, In the centre of town , Yeah
He’s pissed and high on drugs, He knows some thugs, Thieving and stealing
In a Manchester town, Hes up to no good, Hes the man from the hood, he stands there defiant, reliant on drugs and shouts out loud amongst the crowd, yeah yer dead gonna kick you in the head, yeah hes looking for trouble in the centre of town of this Manchester town hes lost the plot and hes not forgot time he was arrested hes been tested certified insane goes against the grain
in danger of himself, hes left on the shelf  locked up so many times
Hes lost count and Yeah he got some help off drugs, Away from thugs out of hospital but he cant keep outta trouble cos hes slipped through the net, Back to old habits.
There like rabbits, Now he walks round town babbling to himself, back on drugs meeting thugs with no hugs causing trouble wherever he goes so yeah, The Manchester outlaw, In Piccadilly, centre of the city, Where taxis, buses and trams. Come in and out And theres a lout Shoutin and Flouting the law, Hes the Manchester outlaw.
